Dr. Evangelos Tsiaras is an accomplished Environmental and Energy Scientist with over 15 years of experience in public works, renewable energy projects and environmental protection. He currently serves as the Head of the Environmental Unit in the Region of Epirus, Greece, where he leads strategic initiatives for regional energy transition and sustainability. Dr. Tsiaras holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Patras, Greece, with a focus on the environmental impacts and benefits of renewable energy sources in small settlements.
His research spans the design and optimization of renewable energy systems, environmental impact assessments and the promotion of energy efficiency and climate resilience. He has contributed to numerous publications on off-grid energy systems and sustainable development, while actively participating in European co-funded projects aimed at promoting energy independence and environmental sustainability.
Fluent in Greek and English, with intermediate proficiency in German, Dr. Tsiaras is committed to advancing the field of sustainable energy and environmental protection through research, policy development and public engagement.
