Dr. Rui Zuo, Professor, College of Water Sciences, Beijing Normal University, China. Director, Platform Management of Office of R&D, Beijing Normal University, China. Groundwater Science and Engineering Doctor, Graduated from College of Water Sciences, Beijing Normal University, in 2010. Studied and researched abroad in heavy metal pollution in groundwater Department of Earth Sciences, University of Texas at Arlington (2009).

Dr. Zuo mainly involves monitor and early warning of groundwater pollution, simulation and management of groundwater pollution, and soil-groundwater pollution control and remediation. Especially, his team has formed their own distinct characteristics in the identification of groundwater pollution plumes. Dr. Zuo has published more than 100 articles (including over 70 papers in SCI journals), 3 monographs, 4 national invention patents. To date, he has hosted more than 20 scientific research projects in the national, provincial and ministerial level. In 2018, Dr. Zuo received Second Prize of Science and Technology of Jilin Province. And in 2020, Dr. Zuo was selected as a member of soil pollution prevention and control expert database of Beijing.

Dr. Zuo has led the development of technology of groundwater pollution source apportionment. This technology has been applied to the construction of groundwater pollution monitoring network in China, and support the revision of Groundwater Environmental Monitoring Technical Specifications (HJ/T 164-2004) by China Environmental Monitoring Station. Another finding, the technology of groundwater resource protection area division, has been applied in the scientific research project of investigation and evaluation of groundwater pollution and groundwater resource protection area division in Beijing.
