Qatar

I have proudly served in the improvement of aviation safety throughout my professional career at Turkish Airlines, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of Türkiye, the Safety Management Section of ICAO, the Turkish Civil Aviation Academy, and the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority respectively.
Currently, I have been holding the “Head of Safety and Risk Management Section” position at the QCAA where I manage activities within the scope of the Qatar State Safety Programme (SSP). For the support of regional and global aviation safety performance improvement, I actively participate in the ICAO safety management mechanisms to represent Qatar with the most possible effectivity. In this manner, I am the Vice-Chairperson of the ICAO MID Annual Safety Report Group.
ICAO Safety Management Panel (SMP) is the international expert committee that develops global safety management standards. I have been actively involved in the activities of the ICAO Safety Management Panel (SMP) for many years. Initially, I supported the SMS Working Group of the SMP and led the Training and Promotion subgroup during my tenure at ICAO. Followingly, I became the Advisor to the Deputy Director General of the Turkish DGCA during his membership in the SMP. At present, I am the ICAO Safety Management Panel (SMP) Member nominated by the State of Qatar.
The Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP) is a program through which ICAO monitors the fulfillment of the safety oversight obligations by its Member States. I am currently an ICAO USOAP Auditor in Airworthiness (AIR) and attend ICAO USOAP missions as a team member.
I am certified as an ICAO-Qualified Instructor for the ICAO State Safety Programme (SSP) courses and I deliver courses in several countries on behalf of ICAO. Along with my professional career, I am also involved in academia with a Doctorate (PhD) degree in Aeronautical Engineering focused on aviation safety management both at the State and service provider levels.
