Dr. Nabil Bachagha earned his BSc in Life and Earth Sciences in 2008 and two MSc degrees in Remote Sensing and GIS, focusing on agriculture and desertification, from the University of Carthage and United Nations University. He completed his PhD in Remote Sensing and GIS in Archaeology in 2020 at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, supported by the prestigious CAS-TWAS scholarship. He later held a postdoctoral fellowship under the PIFI (President's International Fellowship Initiative) at the same university. From 2020 to 2023, he continued his postdoctoral research at Central South University and Hunan University in China. Since 2024, he has been a Research Fellow in Architectural Heritage and Digital Modelling at the University of Leeds, UK. His research interests include remote sensing, GIS, UAV photogrammetry, digital heritage documentation, archaeological site detection, 3D laser scanning, and AI applications in Earth observation.

His is currently a Research Fellow in Architectural Heritage and Digital Modelling at the University of Leeds, UK. My expertise lies in remote sensing, GIS, 3D laser scanning, and the digital preservation of cultural heritage. Over the past decade, I have conducted multidisciplinary research across China, Tunisia, and the UK, focusing on archaeological documentation, environmental sensing, and machine learning applications in geospatial analysis.
