Prof. Dr. Abdelbaset M. Abudeif is a Professor of Applied and Environmental Geophysics and Head of the Geology Department at Sohag University, Egypt. He has held several academic leadership roles, including Former Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and served as Dean (acting) of the Faculty of Engineering in Libya.

He holds a PhD in geophysics (jointly from Sohag University and the University of Karlsruhe, Germany) and has published over 90 peer-reviewed papers in international journals in areas such as gravity, magnetics, GPR, resistivity, seismic interpretation, and petrophysics. He has supervised more than 30 MSc and PhD theses.

Prof. Abudeif is a reviewer and editor for numerous international journals and a recognized expert with experience in strategic planning, international collaboration, groundwater exploration, and environmental assessments. He also leads student scientific chapters affiliated with SEG and SME, with global recognition in 2016 and 2022.

He is currently President of the Faculty Club and Syndicate of Scientific Professionals in Sohag, and a member of national scientific committees under the Supreme Council of Universities and the Academy of Scientific Research in Egypt.
