Dr. Siti Nur Hazwani Oslan is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Malaysia. She holds a PhD in Industrial Biotechnology from Universiti Putra Malaysia. Her academic and research expertise lies at the interface of environmental biotechnology, food biotechnology, and microbial bioprocessing.
Her research focuses on the application of microorganisms and bioprocess technologies for sustainable food systems, environmental safety, and value-added utilization of biological resources. She has extensive experience in microbial cultivation, fermentation optimization, lactic acid bacteria, unctional foods, and the recovery of bioactive compounds from marine and agro-industrial by-products. Her work also addresses food and environmental safety through the detection and control of foodborne and environmental pathogens.
Dr. Siti Nur Hazwani has published widely in peer-reviewed, Scopus- and Web of Science–indexed journals and is actively involved in postgraduate supervision and international research collaborations. She currently serves as the Chief Editor of the International Journal of Food (IJF) and contributes as a reviewer and editor in multidisciplinary journals related to food, biotechnology, and environmental sciences.
