Mr. Gjelosh Vataj is the Vice-Dean of Learning, International Cooperation and Quality Assurance, Faculty of Engineering and Informatics at the University of Applied Sciences in Ferizaj.
Professor VATAJ is also a professor at the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics, Department of Industrial Engineering with Informatics in the Bachelor Program and Production Management in the Master Program in various subjects such as: Engineering Materials I, Production Processes, Materials Processing I, Design of Technological Processes and Automation and Computer Integrated Manufacturing (PKI).
He completed his basic studies in 1993 at the Polytechnic University of Tirana, where he received the title of Graduate Engineer, while he completed his master's degree in 1995, at the same university. In 2020, Vataj received the title of Doctor of Technical Sciences at the Polytechnic University of Tirana.
Professor Vataj was also part of many international projects, funded by the European Union and implemented through the German KfW, focused on capacity building and improving water infrastructure. He was also the institutional coordinator for three phases of the KfW and European Union project.

I am a Doctor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Tirana with over 25 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on water and pumping systems.
Extensive experience in the design and supervision of mechanical systems for water treatment plants, including the detailed design of the mechanical part and the expansion of the Water Treatment Plant in SHIPOL, Mitrovica, with a production capacity of 1200 l/s.
Served as CEO of the Regional Water Company “Prishtina”, managing large-scale projects in coordination with KfW for the rehabilitation of water networks and the construction of treatment plants.
Managed mechanical and electro-mechanical maintenance at the RWC Prishtina, ensuring the continuous operation of water production systems.
Involved in energy efficiency studies within the water sector, contributing to increasing efficiency in public water systems.
Licensed in hydro-sanitary, thermomechanical installations, fire-fighting systems and automation systems for industry and buildings.
Supervised and managed several large-scale projects, including the rehabilitation of water facilities in Kosovo and the expansion of the sewage network in Macedonia.
Strong experience in workplace safety, with certifications in Occupational Safety and Health from the Ministry of Economy, Employment, Industry and Strategic Investments in Kosovo.
Numerous publications in Energy Efficiency, Hydraulic Modeling and Water Services Systems, contributing key knowledge to the sector.
Signatory of the historic agreement for the first Balkans Joint Conference between SHUKALB and SHUKOS.
He has published scientific papers in international journals and conferences and was also a participant in scientific committees at national and international levels.
Professor Vataj speaks English, Italian and Croatian.
