Oana Almășan, DDS, PhD, is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Dental Medicine, “Iuliu Hațieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, within the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry. She is a board-certified specialist and primary care physician in Prosthetic Dentistry as well as Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
She obtained her PhD in Dental Medicine with a dissertation focused on temporomandibular joint functionality and dysfunctionality in patients with dento-maxillary anomalies and completed her habilitation in 2023 with the thesis “From occlusion and malocclusion to the temporomandibular joint.”
Her academic activity includes undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in prosthetic dentistry, dental technology, and clinical training of residents, as well as supervision of diploma theses. Her research interests focus on occlusion, temporomandibular disorders, digital dentistry, dentomaxillofacial imaging, and interdisciplinary approaches in dental rehabilitation.
Dr. Almășan has authored over 70 peer-reviewed scientific articles indexed in international databases and is the author of two specialized books on temporomandibular disorders. She is actively involved in international research projects and serves as a reviewer, academic editor, and guest editor for numerous high-impact journals indexed in Web of Science and Scopus.
