Seyed Reza Elmi Hosseini is an assistant professor in the School of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering of Iran University of Science and Technology in the field of Welding/Additive Manufacturing.
He obtained his Ph.D. degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) in Welding Metallurgy in 2018. His Ph.D. research topic was “The Processes and Mechanisms for the Enhancement of Laser-Welded Joint Strength of Dissimilar Ti6Al4V-304 Stainless Steel”. Meanwhile, he has some publications in the field of laser additive manufacturing. He finished his postdoctoral study at the University of Aveiro in Portugal in the field of simulation of the welding process.
He has studied at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad for B.Sc. and at Iran University of Science & Technology for M.Sc. education. Both Universities are among the high-ranking Iranian technical universities.
He also has some great professional experiences in industrial companies in Iran. Meanwhile, he was working as a faculty member at a national university in Iran for 8 years before starting his Ph.D. at SJTU. He taught different courses for bachelor students at this university. He published more than 50 journal papers, 20 conference papers, and 4 books by now, one of which was published in the United States.
Dr. Elmi Hosseini was known as an Excellent International Student in SJTU each year while studying for a Ph.D. He performed successfully different industrial projects while working in his home country.
Dr. Elmi is very specialized in the Characterization methods such as SEM-EBSD, SEM-EDS, XRD, etc. Also, he majored in the Calculation of Phase Diagrams (CALPHAD) with Thermo-Calc, as well as the Knowledge of modern numerical techniques in materials science and engineering.
Altogether, he is pleased with his academic records, especially practical courses, laboratory skills, and teamwork activities.
