Dr. Chris Turner MSc, BDS, MDS, FDSRCS, FCGDent, FRSM, QDR qualified from the Royal Dental Hospital in London in1968 with distinction in Surgery, Pathology, Dental Surgery and Orthodontics.
After working in general dental practice, he undertook higher training at University College Hospital, London, and Newcastle before being appointed as a Senior Lecturer/Consultant to the School of Dental Surgery in Sheffield in 1979. There, he established from scratch the Dental Practice Unit, which at that time was unique for any Dental School in that it was housed in a separate building from the main dental hospital and for final year dental students. The unit, copied by other schools, continues to train students in the same building to this day.
His later career included working as Director of Dental Services and Postgraduate Dental Tutor in Salisbury, then having achieved recognition as a Specialist in Restorative Dentistry in referral practice in the Cotswolds together with giving over 400 postgraduate hands-on courses. He has over 20-years experience working as an expert witness and is a qualified mediator and is now retired from clinical practice.
