I was born in Istanbul on July 31, 1963. I completed my primary, secondary, and high school education at TED Ankara College and in 1980, I was admitted to Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine. I graduated in 1986, ranking 4th in my class. In 1987, I began my Neurosurgery residency at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, İbn-i Sina Hospital. During and after my residency, I worked twice for a total of 4 months under Professor Diemath at the University Hospital in Salzburg, Austria.

I completed my specialization in 1992 and worked at Tarsus State Hospital until 1996 for my compulsory service. In 1996, due to an available position, I started working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at Selçuk University. I became an Associate Professor on November 19, 2002. In 2006, I ranked first among the Faculty Associate Professors by receiving the highest score in the evaluation of publications in SCI-indexed journals and the citations to these publications. I became a Professor in 2009. I have over 55 international research publications.

I completed my PhD in Anatomy in 2011. Thanks to a surgical technique I developed, inspired by my PhD thesis, I am able to improve the condition of strokes caused by narrowing and twisting of the blood vessels supplying the brain (especially in patients who do not respond to medication and physical therapy). Depending on the location of the affected vessel, I can also treat vertigo, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's-type dementia, spasticity, some types of epilepsy, and imbalance-related walking difficulties, tremors, speech disorders, and some vision problems. I worked at a university until August 2013. I am married and have two children. My foreign languages ​​are English and German.
