Dr. Omodele Johnson Fagbamigbe works with the Prevention branch as a Public Health Specialist (Prevention) Clinical Services Team Lead.

Johnson studied Medicine and Surgery (MBCHB) at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile‐Ife, Nigeria. He also holds MSc in Public health (MPH) from the International School of Public Health, Umea University, Sweden. He has attended several short courses including those taken at Harvard University School of Public Health and Emory University.

Johnson has over 15 years’ experience implementing PEPFAR supported public health programs in Nigeria. After years of clinical practice, Dr. Omodele started public health practice in 2007 with Management Sciences for Health as a TB/HIV Program Specialist and there after rose to become a state Team Leader with same organization. As a State Team Leader, he led and supervised a team of about 15 people to implement HIV/AIDS project funded by PEPFAR/USAID.

Johnson joined the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in 2012 as a Program Specialist, HIV PMTCT. In 2017, He was appointed as a Senior Program Specialist, HIV Care and Treatment his current position until this new appointment.

Johnson has expertise in HIV/AIDS adult and pediatric treatment, Care and Support, Project design, work plan implementation, monitoring and evaluation and Health System strengthening at local, state and national level of government in Nigeria as well as other HIV/AIDS Care and Treatment implementing partners and various steering committees and technical working groups.

He has thorough knowledge of current HIV/AIDS issues in HIV Counseling and testing (HCT),

Treatment, Care and support for PLWHA as well as program management as it forms the core of my everyday job. With regards to current issues in HIV/AIDS, I have participated in several training courses on HIV/AIDS Care and support, and has written and presented abstracts at international conferences.
