Prof. Dr. Muhammad Jehangir Khan is a senior Paediatric Surgeon with over three decades of extensive experience in clinical practice, medical education, and healthcare leadership. He holds an MBBS from Khyber Medical College and an FCPS in Paediatric Surgery from the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan. He has further strengthened his multidisciplinary expertise with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), a Certificate in Health Professions Education (CHPE), and additional qualifications in dermatology, aesthetics, and regenerative medicine.
He currently serves as Professor and Consultant Paediatric Surgeon at Makkah Medical Center and General Hospital, Nowshera, Pakistan. Throughout his distinguished career, he has held several key leadership positions, including Professor and Head of Department of Paediatric Surgery at Nowshera and Bannu Medical Colleges, as well as Dean and Chief Executive Officer of Nowshera Medical College and its affiliated teaching hospital. In these roles, he has contributed significantly to institutional development, postgraduate training accreditation, and healthcare governance.
Clinically, Prof. Khan has vast experience in managing a wide spectrum of paediatric surgical conditions, including congenital anomalies, neonatal surgery, trauma, burns, and minimally invasive procedures. He is particularly recognized for his work in resource-limited settings, where he has successfully delivered high-quality surgical care and improved patient outcomes.
Academically, he is an accomplished researcher with more than 50 peer-reviewed publications indexed in international databases such as PubMed and Scopus. He has played an active role in mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate trainees and has contributed to curriculum development and medical education reforms. He also serves on the editorial boards of several international medical journals.
In addition to his clinical and academic contributions, Prof. Khan has demonstrated strong leadership in healthcare administration, having overseen major institutional projects, including the development of teaching hospitals and medical colleges. His unique combination of clinical expertise, academic excellence, and administrative acumen is further complemented by his legal training, which enhances his understanding of medico-legal and regulatory frameworks.
Prof. Khan is committed to continuous professional development and is actively engaged in advancing paediatric surgical practice, medical education, and healthcare systems both nationally and internationally.
