María Alejandra Quintana Lancheros is an outstanding researcher in the field of chemical engineering, with a solid academic background and an innate passion for scientific research. Graduated from the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Bogotá in 2019 with a degree in Chemical Engineering, she demonstrated an exceptional commitment to study and academic excellence early on. In September 2022, she successfully combined studies leading to the official title of master’s in chemical sciences and technologies, KHEMIA, with a specialization in Research and Development, at the University of Granada. This achievement marked the beginning of her professional dedication to cutting-edge scientific research.

Currently, María Alejandra is immersed in the world of doctoral research, as a PhD candidate in Chemistry at the University of Granada, Spain. Over the course of her third year of PhD, she has consolidated her experience and knowledge in the field of chemical engineering, with a specific focus on photocatalysis and heterogeneous catalysis applied to the synthesis of value-added organic compounds. Her doctoral work is distinguished by her innovative approach and her potential contribution to the development of sustainable and environmentally friendly technologies. In addition to her outstanding academic work, she also stands out as a researcher in the RNM-152 Group: Waste Recovery Technologies and Catalytic Processes. In this role, she focuses on the valorization of solid waste, exploring new ways to use these materials in environmental applications to promote sustainability and environmental conservation. Outside of her professional commitment, María Alejandra enjoys a variety of activities that enrich her personal life and provide her with a healthy balance. These include reading, traveling with friends, creative cooking, and outdoor excursions.
