Dr. Mehdi Baghayeri is a Research Faculty at the Lebanese American University. He is a distinguished chemist known for his expertise in electrochemical sensors and biosensors. He earned his Bachelor's, Master's, and Ph.D. degrees in chemistry from Tabriz University and the University of Mazandaran.

In 2010, Dr. Baghayeri conducted research as a visiting scholar at Aarhus University in Denmark, collaborating with Prof. E. Ferapontova. He later joined Hakim Sabzevari University (HSU) as an Assistant Professor in 2012, where he was promoted to Associate Professor in 2017 and became the Dean of the Faculty of Science in 2021.

His research focuses on nanomaterials, MOFs, and polymer-based nanocomposites, applying them to create highly sensitive electrochemical biosensors. He specializes in biomolecule-nanomaterial interactions, with applications in healthcare, environmental monitoring, and food safety.

Dr. Baghayeri has collaborated with esteemed research leaders globally, including Prof. Oliver Reiser, Prof. Hassan Karimi-Maleh, and Prof. CosiminoMalitesta. He has been recognized as one of the world's top scientists by Web of Science and Stanford University, showcasing his impactful contributions.

His technical achievements include the development of electrochemical biosensors for public health and the food industry, electrochemical sensors for industrial and agricultural use, and innovative nanotechnologies for freshwater production from saline water and wastewater treatment.
