As a physician-scientist, he was interested in translational medicine, specifically in neurobiology and cognitive neuroscience. As the chief of the LIMMIT lab, he worked with a group of researchers interested in probing into the homogenous subtypes of clinical functioning and the subjective experience of subjects with a typical development. As the scientist responsible for the MolecularCog(G) of the SalivaTec lab, he grew knowledge of biomarker research and molecular approaches and techniques for cognitive function profiling. Thus, he became intrinsically interested in omics sciences and studied multiple techniques in molecular biology derived from proteomics, specifically (a) for the probing of the full protein profile and (b) for the multiplexed simultaneous immune detection and quantification of the neuropeptidic and neuroinflammatory response. As requisite for understanding the acquired data, he developed the motivation to endorse the learning of bioinformatic tools used (1) for the integrative analysis of systems biology and (2) for creating classifiers for predictive modeling in health stratification, diagnosis, and prognosis. This screening strategy made possible the acquisition of an H2020 Corbel Grant by the research group he integrates to study patients with atypical child development. This grant aims (i) to permit the integration of multiple clinical and molecular databases for a posteriori analysis of ontologic and nosologic co-expression networks and (ii) to offer data-mining solutions for early screening, molecular stratification, and follow-up of a neurodevelopmental disorder. Concomitantly, as a resident and therapeutic responsible in child psychiatry he attained clinical knowledge in neurodevelopmental disorders, developmental disabilities and psychopedagogy. As milestones were achieved, he developed different neuroscientific applications, tools, and technologies to better understand neuropsychiatric and mental health stratification. Hence, for instance, he, and his supervisors, have developed a graphical user interface toolbox for (a) data exploration/visualization and (b) algorithms' development, aiming at clustering clinical and physiologic strata necessary to personalized medicine. Likewise, as another example, he and his supervisors have contributed to authoring an educational neuroscience center composed of diverse brain-computer interface training protocols for neuroliteracy, which resulted from a university partnership of biophysics, biomedical engineering, and computer science.

Besides, he is an author and member of different NGOs on worldwide humanitarian projects. When he is not working, he optimistically aspires to be an unskilled musician, an unsuccessful artist, a quasi-talent, and an almost regular meditation and yoga practitioner.
