He graduated the Faculty of Physics, University Babes-Bolyai, Cluj-Napoca , in 1973. He has a Masters degree in „Physics and Techniques of Microwaves” (1974) at the Physics Faculty from Babes-Bolyai University. He obtained his Ph.D. in Physics at the National Institute of Physics IFA Bucharest in 1997. He held the following positions at Transilvania University of Brasov: teaching assistant (1979-1990), lecturer (1990-2007), associate professor (2007-present), doing education and research activities. Main scientific activity consists in :author of 10 scientific books and university courses, author or co-author of more than 60 scientific papers (25 ISI listed items). He was partner in some European projects (COPERNICUS) and coordinator of 3 national grants obtained by competition and also member in the research team in other national or local scientific projects. He was member in the organizing committee of some international conferences (Amorphous and Nanostructured Chalcogenides, ROCAM, LEI). Coordinator of the research team” Wave propagation and computer simulation”. PhD Coordinator at the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Transylvania University Brasov, Materials Engineering Specialization.
