Dr. Xu Li is a professor of medicine at Southern Medical University. He currently serves as the Director of Nanfang Hospital, Department of Emergency Medicine. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from First Military Medical University. Since 1998, Dr. Li’s research program has focused on the impact of the Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System (RAS) on liver and lung fibrosis. His group has found that angiotensin II and aldosterone, respectively by influencing ROS generation and inflammation, trigger liver and lung fibrosis. His work has provided new insights into mechanisms and treatment of liver and lung fibrosis.
He is an evaluation expert of National Natural Science Foundation Committee and online evaluation expert of State Science and Technology Award. He is the guest editor of Frontiers in Immunology, and specially invited reviewer of several journals such as Journal of Hepatology, Advanced Science, Thorax, Small, Phytotherapy Research , International Immunopharmacology, Journal of Inflammation Research and so on. In the past 20 years, he has published papers in Redox Biology, Journal of Nanobiotechnology ,Free Radical Biology and Medicine, Antioxidant & Redox Signaling, American Journal of Respiratory Cell and Molecular Biology.
