Professor Honggang Dong has been working in welding community, and his research activity includes dissimilar materials joining technology and metallurgy, composition design of welding materials, and numerical simulation of welding processes. He achieved Bachelor, Master and PhD degrees from 1994 to 2004 at Harbin Institute of Technology (China), and worked as Postdoc from 2005 to 2007 at University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA), and now is Chair of School of Materials Science and Engineering, Dalian University of Technology, China. He won First Award of Liaoning Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, Second Award of Henan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, Youth Science and Technology Achievement Award from Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, Warren F. Savage Award from American Welding Society, World Top 2% Scientists, etc.
