He has a degree in Medicine from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (2000), a Master's degree in Health Sciences (2005), and a Ph.D. in Health Sciences from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (2007), and a Post-Doctorate in Health Sciences from UFRN (2013), in addition to a Ph.D. from Sorbonne University/Paris Diderot/Experimental Surgery (2017/2018). He is currently Associate Professor IV of the Discipline of Operative Technique of the Department of Surgery at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte; a Member of the Latin American Federation of Surgery; a Full Member of the Brazilian College of Surgeons; Master of the Chapter of the Brazilian College of Surgeons in Rio Grande do Norte; Full Member of the Brazilian College of Digestive Surgery; Member of the Pan-American Trauma Society, Full Member of the Brazilian Society for the Development of Research in Surgery (SOBRADPEC/UNIFESP); Deputy coordinator of the Research Base in Experimental Surgery Prof. Clóvis Sarinho; Vice-president of the RN Regional of the Brazilian Society for the Development of Research in Surgery. Deputy Coordinator of the Scientific Initiation Program - Teaching, Research and Innovation Institute/IEPI - LIGA NORTERIOGRANDENSE CONTRA O CÂNCER - IEPI/LIGA - Effective Professor of the Professional Postgraduate Masters/Doctorate Program in Biotechnology at Universidade Potiguar/Ânima Educação. He has experience in the area of Medicine, with an emphasis on General Surgery, Gastroenterology, and Oncology of the Digestive System, working mainly in the following lines of research: infection in surgery, intercurrent factors in wound healing, the biodistribution of radionuclides, experimental models of osteoporosis, ischemia and intestinal reperfusion and solid organs, an experimental model of bariatric surgery, development of biocompatible orthoses for the reconstruction of the abdominal wall, technological innovation in health, biotechnology, and nanotechnology in the development of biocompatible herbal medicines/actives with potential for industrialization, the experimental model of digestive fistula, biotherism and anesthesia in small and medium-sized animals.
