I hold a PhD in Social Sciences and Politics, with initial training in Psychology. I am currently an Educational Researcher at the Institute of Higher Education Sciences of the State of Mexico (ISCEEM). My research interests focus on school violence and the mental health of educational stakeholders.

Since 2001, I have served as a professor at various universities in Mexico, and for the past eight years, I have been a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI), a program by the Mexican Government's Secretariat of Science, Humanities, Technology, and Innovation that recognizes outstanding researchers in science production and dissemination, as well as in the training of specialized human resources in research.

I have mentored more than twenty undergraduate and graduate students. I have also led two research groups focused on violence prevention in schools and promoting inclusion within educational institutions. I was part of the team that created the School Coexistence Observatory in the State of Mexico, which studies the relational conditions between educational actors within schools. Among the research projects I have directed are: "Social Construction of Symbolic Violence in the Daily Life of Secondary Schools," "Phenomenological Study of Coexistence in Secondary Schools," and "Risk Prevention in the Management of Social Networks by Young Students."

I have published several articles in high-impact journals on the themes central to my research. Some of my recent articles include:

  • "Education, Poverty, and Crime: Links to Violence in Mexico?" in Convergencia.
  • "I Read it in a Bathroom: Messages in the Restrooms of Primary and Secondary Schools" in Voces y Silencios.
  • "Peace Culture in School Communities Besieged by Drug Dealing and Poverty: A Utopia?" in International Journal of Social Science Research and Review.
  • "Burnout Syndrome and Sleep Quality in Basic Education Teachers in Mexico" in International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health.
  • "Perception of Mexican Educational Actors Regarding the Implications of School Life on Educational Achievement" in International Journal of Instruction.

Notable books I have published include:

  • Configuration of Coexistence in Schools: Institutional Components.
  • Obesity, Depression, and Bullying: When Suicide Becomes an Option.

I have also served as a reviewer for various scientific journals, such as International Journal of Instruction, Chronicles of Behavioral Psychology, and Journal of Aggression, Conflict and Peace Research. Additionally, I was the Editorial Director of D'Perspectivas Siglo XXI, a journal that I led for four years until it was recognized by indexing services like Amelica, Latindex, and CLASE.

My work has focused on addressing a less explored area in Mexico: mental health in educational settings. It has been recognized for its innovative approach to studying variables typically analyzed from a biomedical perspective, from a social standpoint. As a member of the editorial board, I aim to contribute to the journal's mission of promoting high-quality research, ensuring a rigorous review process, and fostering academic debate in the journal's specialized fields.

I consider myself a person committed to academic excellence and integrity. My collaborative approach and critical analytical skills enable me to contribute a balanced and rigorous perspective to the editorial process.
