I graduated from the School of Medicine at the University of Jordan in 2007 and did residency training in Laboratory Medicine at Jordan University Hospital and got the specialization degree in 2012 from Jordan Medical Council (JMC) in Clinical Pathology. In 2017, I got my PhD in Clinical Virology from Lund University at the Faculty of Medicine with my PhD thesis entitled “Phylogenetic inference in the epidemiologic and evolutionary investigation of HIV-1, HCV and HBV”. I have been working as an Assistant Professor in Clinical Virology at the School of Medicine, the University of Jordan besides my work as a consultant in the clinical laboratories at Jordan University hospital. In 2021, I was promoted to the rank of an Associate Professor at the Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Forensic Medicine at the School of Medicine, the University of Jordan. My research interests include molecular epidemiology of rapidly evolving viruses, microbial drug resistance and recently in COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy.
