Ying Zhang is a Professor and Researcher at the First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University, and holds the title of "High-level Talent" at China Medical University, a recognition of professional excellence in the field of cardiovascular medicine.
Zhang's core research focuses on three key directions in cardiovascular medicine: exploring the pathogenesis of hypertension and its target organ damage, investigating the regulatory role of protein post-translational modifications in the progression of cardiovascular diseases, and developing translational therapeutic strategies for cardiovascular disorders. These research areas integrate basic medical mechanism research with clinical practical needs, aiming to provide new theoretical support and technical references for optimizing the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
In academic achievements, Zhang currently serves as the principal investigator of a National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) General Program (2026.01-2029.12), with the project titled "The Role and Mechanism of Chromatin Remodeling Protein BAF170 in Myocardial Fibrosis". Zhang also won the First-Class Award of Liaoning Provincial Science and Technology Progress in 2021 (ranked 3rd), and was recognized in the 2024 "Gathering Her Technology - Women for Innovation" Shenyang Digital Economy Women's Technology Innovation Exhibition. Relevant research findings have been published in high-impact academic journals, including a 2023 study on "Deacetylation of Septin4 by SIRT2" that reveals novel regulatory mechanisms in cardiovascular physiology and pathology.
In the field of cardiovascular medicine, Zhang continues to deepen academic research, actively promote academic exchanges and cooperation, and contributes to the development and progress of the discipline, making Zhang a valuable participant in the academic and editorial community of cardiovascular medicine.
- Zhang Ying’s research interests primarily focus on the role and underlying molecular mechanisms of protein post-translational modifications in the occurrence and development of cardiovascular diseases. Her research work centers on exploring the regulatory effects of key protein modifications (such as deacetylation and lactylation) on cardiovascular pathological processes and target organ damage, with the aim of providing novel theoretical basis and potential therapeutic targets for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular-related diseases. She has long been engaged in in-depth research in this field, presided over multiple national and provincial-level scientific research projects, and published a series of high-impact papers in internationally renowned journals. Meanwhile, she is committed to translating basic research achievements into clinical applications, has applied for and authorized several invention patents related to small-molecule peptide compounds and protein modification-related pharmaceutical uses, and actively promotes the integration of scientific research and clinical practice. In addition, she is also involved in medical education research, focusing on optimizing the cultivation of scientific research thinking ability of medical undergraduates to support the development of young medical talents in the field of cardiovascular research.
